Upgrading to 5 Pinion Planetary Bearing

Join Curt in Curt's Corner to get an answer to a much asked question and concern about the upgraded 5 pinion planetary in a 700r4, 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E. The factory 4-pinion planetary has a different shoulder than the new upgraded 5-pinion planetary. This causes the bearing to be loose. Curt shows that this is okay and the parts will still operate correctly. When you upgrade to a 5 pinion planetary you do not need to replace the bearing or the Front planetary ring gear hub.
