AOD Stator

The AOD stator is part of the torque converter and is responsible for directing the direction of the fluid that runs through the converter. It contains blades or ports that is used to redirect the fluid that comes from the turbine before hitting the pump. It uses a blade design to redirect the fluid and is fixed to a shaft by way of a clutch. Because of this, the stator can only spin in the opposite direction of the fluid. This forces the fluid to change direction as it hits the blades.
