4R44 Transmission

In 1995, the A4LD was upgraded and a new series of transmissions was launched, creating the 4R44. This new family of transmissions came equipped with full electronic controls, 4 forward gears, rear wheel drive platforming, and is rated for 440 ft/lb of torque, thus the name 4R44. The 4R44 is built for more lighter duty use than any of its counterparts, making it reliable for a smaller car.
